From the Beginning presents a new series of intuitive works developed from the knowledge, memory and understanding of organic structures and learned mark-making. The collagraph printing plates use materials from built and manufactured items to organic objects. Each work explores new approaches and relationships with colour application and printing techniques to emphasise layers of texture, tone, and line. The unique state works introduce new materials, such as stitching, gold leaf, paint, and pencil, offering endless possibilities, observations and questions.
