The Nuances series continues to explore abstract imagery of livestock skulls. Intrigued by the energy, movement and texture embedded within the surface of these skulls, each watercolour drawing explores a linear approach to mark-making. 

 

The delicate brushwork and detailed paper cuts are intuitive drawings that imitate the intricate marks in the skulls disintegrating surface texture. By developing imagery that cannot be immediately recognised, the viewer can read the works as a series of abstract landscapes.
